Returning to The Grove after its sell-out production of "42nd Street" last year, DAOS present the lavish musical "The King and I".
This is the story of the widowed English school teacher, Mrs Anna Leonowens, who arrives in Siam in 1862 to tutor the King's children and wives. With stunning sets, costumes and a glorious score that weaves through the growing relationship between Anna and the King. There is also a darker subplot surrounding the affair between Burmese slave Tuptim and her secret lover.
One of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most famous shows which includes unforgettable numbers such as Getting To Know You, Shall We Dance, I Whistle a Happy Tune, Hello Young Lovers and the March of the Siamese Children this promises to be a event to remember!
